Syria rebels hand monitors to U.N. team in Khan Sheikhoun

Meanwhile, SANA reported that "the bodies of 9 army, law-enforcement and civilian martyrs were escorted on Wednesday from Tishreen Military Hospital in Damascus, Aleppo Military Hospital, Deir Ezzor Military Hospital and Police Hospital in Harasta to their final resting place. Solemn processions were held for the martyrs who were killed in the line of duty in Damascus Countryside, Aleppo, Deir Ezzor and Daraa."

Separately, Several Syrian towns witnessed a number of anti-regime protests on Wednesday while opposition websites reported deployments of security forces firing tear gas in the town of Amouda.

As for international positions, Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salihi said that the Syrian regime should be granted time to implement Annan’s plan which calls for a halt to violence in Syria.

During an interview with Reuters, Head of Syrian National Council Burhan Ghalioun said he is determined to break with a year of failure and to rally fellow exiles and their allies behind a new strategy of arming the rebels inside the country.
