Riyad al-Asaad: Rifaat Eid conspirator and leader of armed party

The commander of the Free Syrian Army Riyad al-Asaad accused on Friday the Arab Democratic Party Secretary General Rifaat Eid of conspiring against Lebanon and bringing foreign Arab army to occupy its North. Al-Asaad called on the Lebanese people to unite against the “logic of protections” which could take back Lebanon to the 1974 period, noting that this issue lies in the hands of the Lebanese judiciary, the Bar association and the Parliament.

Eid’s remarks not only undermine the status of Lebanon who is exerting efforts in Tripoli to recover, but also undermine the nation’s dignity and the dignity of every Lebanese citizen, al-Asaad pointed out in a statement. He stressed that Eid is neither a political analyst, nor a media theorist, but the leader of a licensed armed Lebanese party.
