REPORT: Chekka residents warn against “environmental disaster”
Minister of Environment Tareq Khatib visited the northern town of Chekka, inspecting the cement factories and the close eternit factory.
 
However, everything remained the same after the visit as the residents and environmental experts reiterated that the presence of these factories among
residential areas is “an environmental disaster’ that can lead to cancer diseases.
