The Maronite bishops stressed Wednesday the need to fight corruption that has been eating its way through the state’s institutions in a blatant and systematic manner.
In a statement issued following their regular monthly meeting, the bishops said that the eradicating corruption is the main entrance toward true reform within the state.
“Lebanon’s strength lies within the unity and solidarity of the people,” the statement read, hoping that a new electoral law that guarantees fair representation will be reached as soon as possible and before the expiration of the constitutional deadlines.
