REPORT: Clashes continue in Ain el-Helweh refugee camp

Clashes in the Ain al-Helweh refugee camp in the southern city of Sidon continued on Saturday.

Gunshots and rockets were clearly heard across the refugee camp whereby the clashes focused on the Tiri neighborhood, a stronghold of Bilal Badr whose whereabouts are yet to be known.

The gun battles killed one person and injured 15 others while schools in the camp's vicinity kept their doors closed for the sake of safety.

Meanwhile, some people evacuated patients from the Sidon Governmental hospital fearing the deteriorating security situation.

The Lebanese army, on the other hand, took strict security measures at the gates of the Palestinian camp.

This as the security forces cut the Hasbeh-Sidon highway because of the random bullets.
