REPORT: President Aoun attends Good Friday ceremony in Kaslik

President Michel Aoun and first lady Nadia Shami Aoun attended on Friday the Good Friday Veneration of the Cross ceremony at the Holy Spirit University of Kaslik.

Lebanese MPs, ministers and officials also attended the ceremony.

Prior to the mass, Minister of Culture Ghattas Khoury said that a new formula for a vote law is being discussed; adding that the government will soon draft a new electoral law.

“The Cabinet can make amendments on it if needed,” he added.

For his part, MP Ibrahim Kanaan said that a new vote law is being finalized.

“Now is the hardest part,” he added.

As for Minister of Social Affairs Pierre Bou Assi, he urged the political leaders to find solutions for the county’s crisis, voicing hopes that a new vote law would be drafted soon.

Meanwhile, Minister of Foreign Affairs Gebran Bassil did not make any statement, stressing that today “is for prayers only.”
