Maronite Patriarch Cardinal Beshara Boutros Rai said Saturday that the political factions should not divide the positions between themselves and obstruct the country’s affairs under the pretext of agreement, while remaining indifferent toward the damages sustained by the public institution, calling on them to overlook their personal interests and focus on promoting coexistence.
In his message on the occasion of Easter Holiday, Rai emphasized the importance of the Christians’ role within their communities.
He also urged the International Community to put an end to all funding provided to the terrorist organizations, calling on the Muslims to take unified stances and launch real initiatives to preserve the positive image of Islam.
Rai also condemned the persistent and repeated persecution targeting the Christians in Egypt.
