MP Kanaan says a new electoral law will be passed

Change and Reform bloc member MP Ibrahim Kanaan stressed that “the issue of coexistence is not a joke, neither is it a slogan to hide behind and when the truth comes we ignore it.”

He noted that the Free Patriotic Movement has been subject to many campaigns, expressing surprise over the fact that many proposals have been presented regarding the vote law, and all of them have been rejected.

Following the bloc’s weekly meeting, Kanaan asked whether it was the qualification proposal that has sparked sectarianism within the parliament.

In this context, the deputy stressed that a new electoral law will be passed eventually and the elections will be held, reiterating that there will be no vacuum or term extension.

“No alliance can reach above the ceiling of the constitution and no political interest can surpass the ceiling of justice,” he stated.

Regarding the electricity plan, Kanaan wondered about the aim behind all this hustle over the electricity, calling on the cabinet to take a decision in this regard during tomorrow’s session.
