REPORT: Berri says May 15 session may be postponed

Speaker Nabih Berri was quoted on Wednesday as saying that he will not convene the May 15 legislative session unless the political leaders agree on a new vote law.

Berri’s comments were quoted following his weekly meeting with MPs in Ain el-Tineh.

Lebanese leaders are still struggling to agree on a new vote law in time for a Parliament session scheduled for May 15.

Parliamentary elections were first scheduled to take place between May 21 and June 21, however political deadlock is expected to delay polls beyond June.
