Mikati in response to Future MPs: Everyone knows what we are doing to put out the fire

The press office of Prime Minister Najib Mikati said that the call for the resignation of the government is now included in every statement issued by the Future bloc. The office considered that this reflects a deep desire to recover what they consider to be “an acquired right that no one has the right to take away”, or else they will be met with insults, lies and delusions that are now well-known by the public opinion.       

Mikati’s office quoted the prime minister as saying that since day 1 of the government’s mandate, he accepted the responsibility since he felt that he had to fulfill a national obligation. He added that if the resignation of the government actually solves the crisis, he wouldn’t have waited once second, but he must continue assuming his responsibility and seek to spare Lebanon the scourge of some false political bets.        

In response to the MPs who held him fully responsible for the incidents that rocked Beirut, Tripoli and the north, the office said that this is completely unfounded; “Everyone knows what the prime minister is doing to put out the fire set by others, including some Future MPs.”
