REPORT: Syrian man becomes Lebanese citizen with $200

On papers, his name is Bachar al-Sawan, but in reality he is Mohammad al-Hleibi, a Syrian national born in 1998.

But with only $200 he became a Lebanese citizen.

Al-Hleibi has been detained for ten days after the security forces raided the tent he was living in with his companions. Al-Minieh police station reported that said national was arrested by the Lebanese army for possessing a forged Lebanese Civil Status Certificate holding his own photograph.

In this regard, Ayman al-Sawan, father of Bachar al-Sawan, stressed that the mentioned certificate belongs to his son, Bachar.
