Interior and Municipalities Minister Nouhad al-Mashnouq reassured that the parliamentary elections will take place before the end of the year, stressing that their minds and ears are open for all possibilities and options.
During a meeting held in the town of Bebnin for the official figures and Mokhtars in the district of Akkar, al-Mashnouq noted that President Michel Aoun and Prime Minister Saad Hariri will hold an extraordinary session for the parliament on June 19.
“Moderation is the strongest feature, and all the campaigns aiming at excluding some parties were fought with moderation,” he said.
The minister also stressed the need to never give up justice in the assassination of Rafiq Hariri, reiterating his rejection to the intervention of Hezbollah in the terror practiced by Assad in Syria.
Al-Mashnouq had met with the families of Islamist detainees during his visit to the North on Friday. He visited the city of Tripoli and al-Baddawi.
