Environment Minister approves hunting licenses

Environment Minister Tareq Khatib approved on Monday hunting licenses for the first time since 1996.

Only certain birds can be hunted, and it is a must that hunters have an official license from the ministry, the Environment Ministry said in a statement.

The minister stressed that the hunting season will begin in September 15 and will end in January 2018, adding that hunters will have to read the hunting laws.

Hunters must also know which bird species are legal to hunt, before they are given a hunting license.
