Secondary education teachers, demobilized civil defense employees and retired military personnel staged Tuesday a demonstration in Riad al-Solh Square, coinciding with the parliament session.
In a statement, the teachers said that “the injustice against them started in October 2015.”
Communist Party chief Hanna Gharib stressed that the pay scale is a right for all sectors and has to be passed today.
Amin Samaha, Secretary of the committee of demobilized Civil Defense employees said that the demobilized have served the country for 40 years and their number do not exceed one hundred, noting that they were demobilized without a retirement salary, despite the issuance of a decree in 2000 granting them this right.
