REPORT: Curfew imposed on Syrian refugees through loudspeakers

After reports of the intention of a number of Syrians and Lebanese activists to stage a sit-in in Beirut downtown against the racism practiced against the refugees, and after verbal clashes sweeping through social media, the situation escalated to issues on the ground.

In Bourj Hammoud, a group of Lebanese young people took to the street and called on the Syrian refugees, through loudspeakers, not to go out after 8 pm.

In the Bekaa towns of Riaq and Ali al-Nahri, a curfew was also imposed on the refugees through loudspeakers, urging them not to participate in any movements and protests against the Lebanese army.
