REPORT: Bassil from Ras Baalbek: It is natural that LAF fights to liberate Lebanese territories

Free Patriotic Movement chief Foreign Minister Gebran Bassil said that “it is only natural that the Lebanese army launches an offensive to liberate Lebanese land,” noting that they are celebrating restoration of the decision that was once taken away.

Following the movement’s extraordinary meeting in Ras Baalbek, he stated that the Lebanese people and the Lebanese army have a huge responsibility in terms of dealing with the Syrian displacement, stressing that threats can come from all sides.

“We are present every day in Ras Baalbek, but this meeting is extraordinary because the situation is extraordinary,” he added.

The meeting was attended by Energy Minister Cesar Abi Khalil, State Minister for Presidential Palace Affairs Pierre Raffoul, MP Simon Abi Ramia and members of the political bureau in Ras Baalbek.

Bassil also visited al-Qaa town, where he stressed that “Lebanon does not need permission from anyone to liberate its lands and fight terrorism,” pointing out that the upcoming phase will contain pain, joy, freedom and independence from terror.
