REPORT: Tripoli saved from massacre at al-Mansouri mosque

The security forces in North Lebanon managed last Monday, August 07, to foil a terrorist attack that would have caused a massacre in Tripoli.

In the details, the security forces arrested a Lebanese national with two bombs in his possession, attempting to access al-Mansouri Mosque in the northern region of Tripoli.

Sources told LBCI that after five days of interrogations, it has been revealed that the Lebanese national, identified by his initials as R. Q., has joined the Islamic State and was planning to enter the mosque during evening prayers, toss the grenades then snatch the gun from one of the guards and start shooting at the people. According to the detainee, he was planning “to keep shooting until someone arrests or kills him.”
