Mufti Daryan: Army can protect all Lebanese people

Grand Mufti Sheikh Abdel Latif Daryan congratulated on Friday the Lebanese army for its victory over terrorism in the border towns of Ras Baalbek and al-Qaa, conveying his condolences to the army martyrs.

“The Lebanese army has the ability to protect all Lebanese people, it is our national army and it is the symbol of Lebanon’s unity, sovereignty, independence, security and stability,” Daryan said in his Eid al-Adha sermon.

He also reiterated the need for the Lebanese people to stand beside the army.

Turning to the controversial issue of making Fridays as a day of rest, Mufti Daryan said that the Dar al-Fatwa is adamant on its demand, adding that such a thing does not target Lebanon’s factions.
