Supreme Defense Council convenes under chairmanship of Aoun

The Supreme Defense Council convened on Friday, under chairmanship of President Michel Aoun and in the presence of PM Saad Hariri, Defense Minister Yaakoub Sarraf, Foreign Minister Gebran Bassil, Finance Minister Ali Hassan Khalil, Interior Minister Nouhad Machnouk and Justice Minister Salim Jraisati.

Lebanese Army Commander General Joseph Aoun was also called to the meeting along with leaders of the security services and their assistants.

In the beginning of the meeting, the council stood a minute of silence to mourn the martyr soldiers.

The council discussed the security situation and distributed missions to the ministries and the concerned institutions.
