Lebanese Forces chief Samir Geagea said that the new electoral law replies on the use of a biometric card to vote from the region of residence of every citizen, noting however that a more effective method was mentioned during the discussions held by the ministerial electoral committee, and consists of pre-registration.
Geagea said that this method gives the same result and saves an amount of USD 130 million in expenses.
In a statement, Geagea called for adopting the pre-registration and dropping the concept of biometric cards, “since both methods lead to the same result.”
