Fayyad to LBCI: EDL contract workers have right to tenure

The head of Electricité du Liban follow-up committee, Mohammad Fayyad, told Nharkom Said TV show that EDL contract workers have the right to tenure “after all these years of work with the company.”

Fayad confirmed on Thursday that the protesters will continue their protest “quietly and peacefully”, awaiting relevant decisions to be issued during the upcoming cabinet session.

Electricité du Liban contract workers continued their protest on Thursday in the inner yard of the company’s building in Corniche al-Naher.

Protesters maintained a clam atmosphere as workers headed for their offices to resume normal work.

A tent was set up in the outer yard of the building as protesters raised banners urging the state to meet their demand.
