Nasrallah to kidnappers: Do not use hostages to settle score with me

Nasrallah pointed out that certain media outlets are blowing security events out of proportion, adding that civil peace is the result of an integrated process.

Nasrallah stressed that political parties should assume responsibility as to not instigate strife in the country, “if Lebanon is to remain unified and secure, we want the government and its institution,” he stressed. 

The Hezbollah leader confirmed  that “the country cannot stand to be divided through federalism.”  

Commenting on the issue of Lebanese hostages, the Hezbollah leader said that the Lebanese government is responsible for the detainees return and that it is working hard for their safe return.      

Addressing kidnappers, Nasrallah said “do not take innocent people as hostages in order to settle the score with me.”    

In his concluding remarks, Nasrallah called for calm and self-restraint and for giving the government time to harbor safe return of detainees.

On another note, the Hezbollah leader said that Khomeini was the leader of the Islamic Popular Revolution which started in Iran.

Touching on the topic of Israel, Nasrallah said that Israel’s hand over of the remains of 91 Palestinians on Thursday reflects the country’s “brutality”.

Earlier in the day, sources confirmed Friday that a number of the Lebanese abductees’ families’ sent a letter to Hezbollah Secretary General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah asking him not to apologize.
