Min Riachi to LBCI: Negotiating with Syrian regime over refugee crisis is useless

Minister of Information Melhem Riachi said on Sunday that the pay scale without taxes would lead to an economic collapse.

“The pay scale could not be paid without additional revenues,” Riachi said during an interview with Nharkom Said TV show.

As for the upcoming parliamentary elections, Riachi said that the Lebanese people have to change their representatives “should they deem them corrupt.”

Turning to the Syrian refugee crisis, the minister said that the return of the displaced should be done under the supervision of the United Nations.

“Negotiating with the Syrian regime in this regard is useless and we will not grant it legitimacy,” he added.
