On the 7th anniversary of his assassination, Samir Kassir’s legacy lives on
Seven years have passed and An-Nahar’s Saturday column is still absent.     

Samir Kassir, who was haunted by the misery of Arabs, made the early connection between Lebanon’s independence and democracy in Syria.     

From the rise of independence to the call for an “uprising within an uprising,” the child inside Samir Kassir was never at rest.

Kassir, who fell under the spell of Beirut, refused to be drawn into dirty deeds, keeping his pen in line with the character of Beirut as he saw it.
