Al Arabiya TV reveals attempt to assassinate Hariri
The Al Arabiya TV announced on Saturday via its Twitter account that an attempt to assassinate Prime Minister Saad Hariri was thwarted in Beirut a few days ago.
The TV channel said that the planners of the assassination disrupted the watchtowers  while Harriri’s convoy was moving around.
 
Earlier on Saturday, Prime Minister Saad Hariri submitted his resignation, saying in a televised broadcast he sensed a plot to assassinate him, criticizing Iran and and Hezbollah.

He said a similar atmosphere existed in the country prevailed before the assassination of his father, late prime minister Rafic Hariri.
