REPORT: Several Lebanese parties visited Saudi Arabia: Were they aware of the situation?

While the Lebanese parties have been shocked by Prime Minister Saad Hariri announced his resignation, many said that there were Saudi signs that paved the way to this move.

In this regard, Interior Minister Nouhad al-Mashnouq was the first to mention what he called “a US-Gulf political and economic siege against Lebanon,” more than three months ago.

Sources close to al-Mashnouq said that he concluded these information from several factors, including the message of the US ambassador to the UN and the united US position towards Hezbollah, as well as regional events including al-Abdelli network in Kuwait and others.

Lebanese Forces chief Samir Geagea and Kataeb party chief Samy Gemayel were the most prominent visitors to Saudi Arabia recently.
