Soueid to LBCI: National Constitutional Conference emerged from Taif

Former MP Fares Soueid confirmed on Tuesday that “the National Constitutional Conference emerged from the Taif Accord”.

Soueid stressed the importance that dialogue center on the issue of arms.

Soueid told Nharkom Said TV show that the March 14 memorandum to be submitted to President Michel Sleiman will confirm adherence to Taif and the constitution.

The former lawmaker considered that Hezbollah Chief Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah’s call for forming a National Constitutional Conference is connected to an undeclared motive by the latter, to ties the issue of arms with constitutional authority.
