REPORT: BDL Governor denies to LBCI Jubeir’s statements over Hezbollah funds

Governor of Banque Du Liban Riyad Salameh denied to LBCI on Friday the statements made by Saudi Arabia's Foreign Minister Adel Jubeir about smuggling Hezbollah funds through Lebanese banks.

Salameh also noted that the Lebanese banking sector garners International legitimacy.

Earlier, Jubeir accused from Italy at a conference Hezbollah of using Lebanese banks to launder money.

“Iran is facilitating the movement of terrorists, instituting Hezbollah in Lebanon, using it to launder money and smuggle drugs,” he added.
