Geagea: There are no funds for Hezbollah through Lebanese banks
Lebanese Forces leader Samir Geagea commented on Saturday on the latest statements made by Saudi Foreign Minister Adel Jubeir.
"I appreciate Jubeir's speech, but I have another opinion concerning the Lebanese banking sector. The Lebanese banks are completely complying with the Central Bank's instructions to coordinate with the US Treasury Department, and take it upon themselves to apply International standards and banking systems," Geagea said in an interview with Today's News website.

"I do not think there are any funds for Hezbollah going through the Lebanese banking system," he added.
Earlier on Friday, Jubeir accused from Italy at a conference Hezbollah of using Lebanese banks to launder money.

“Iran is facilitating the movement of terrorists, instituting Hezbollah in Lebanon, using it to launder money and smuggle drugs,” Jubeir added.


On another note, Geagea criticized Hezbollah's Deputy Secretary General Sheikh Naim Qassem's latest statements about "winners and losers."
"The only loser in this crisis are the Lebanese people, who are being pushed from one crisis to another, with their livelihood and fate being manipulated from the Gulf far-reaching to the two Americas and all in-between," Geagea noted.

This as Geagea stressed that "the March 8 team will not succeed in separating between the Lebanese Forces and the Future Movement in an effort to isolate it."

He added that "there are strong discussions between LF and Future Movement to restore their relationship back into place."
