Ongoing violence in Syria, regime and opposition exchange accusations
Homs and rural Lattakia were the scenes of heavy shelling and gunfire from medium and heavy machineguns on Sunday in an attempt to storm the neighborhoods, according to the Human Observatory for Human Rights.

In rural Deraa in particular, Reuters reported that clashes with the security forces continued, killing at least two members of the Syrian army.

At a time when Deraa held a funeral for those killed in Saturday’s raids, thousands of protestors participating in the funeral vowed revenge.

In Deraa, a video obtained by Reuters shows dozens of Free Syrian Army rebels taking control of some areas near the southern city of Deraa and the aftermath of attacks on Syrian army and security positions.

The Syrian TV aired an audio recording of persons saying they are terrorists plotting for explosions in the country.

The Syrian TV also aired on Saturday night a documentary on Damascus’ blasts and their executors, according to the official version of the story. The documentary showed that terrorists of different nationalities and members of al-Nasra Front affiliated to al-Qaeda organization plotted and carried out these terrorist suicide bombings.

The Free Syrian Army called for a general strike and for civil disobedience.

In international positions, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Sunday led a chorus of Israeli officials expressing outrage over the bloodshed in Syria, accusing Iran and Lebanese Hezbollah militants of complicity in the carnage there.
