Lavrov: Iran and Russia share common stances on Syria
Russia's Foreign Minister defended his country's sale of arms to Syria on Wednesday.

"We are not violating any international law in performing these contracts," said Sergei Lavrov, in response to a question about arms sales to Syria at a joint news conference held with his Iranian counterpart Ali Akbar Salehi in Tehran and shown on Iranian state television.

As for Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi, he said nuclear negotiations are on the right track adding that he is optimistic about the final outcome.

”We look forward to the end of bloodshed in Syria, everyone should work towards that”, Salehi said, stressing that the crisis needs to be solved by Syrians under Annan’s peace plan, not through foreign intervention.
