REPORT: STL to issue sentence in Hariri assassination in spring 2019

Sources at the Special Tribunal For Lebanon expected that the sentence in the assassination of late Prime Minister Rafic Hariri will be issued in Spring 2019.

This as defense lawyers of Ayash and Merhi asserted that they have evidences that refute the presumption of communications which the prosecutor is relying upon, adding that these evidences form a mean to accusing others.

The STL is investigating the February 14, 2005 assassination of Lebanese former Prime Minister Rafic Hariri in Beirut. Twenty-one people were also killed in the massive bombing that targeted the premier.
