Maliki and Sadr’s phone call does not end political crisis in Iraq
A source from the office of Iraqi Shiite leader Muqtada al-Sadr said Friday that Sadr and Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki discussed the country’s political crisis in a phone call; however, they did not reach an agreement to end the crisis that revolves around revoking the confidence from Maliki’s government.

This was the first contact to be publicly announced between the two leaders ever since their meeting in Iran in March.
