Doctors to hold strike next Monday
The head of Doctors Syndicate Dr. Sharaf Abou Sharaf declared on Friday that the doctors of Lebanon will be holding a strike next Monday and will only respond to emergency cases. This decision came to express solidarity with Dr. Moussa Abou Hamad, who was detained two weeks earlier, following the death of his pregnant patient Rita Zougheib in the hospital.

During a press conference, Abou Sharaf said that this act is a violation of the law, adding that this can harm the reputation of the medical career in a country known as the hospital of the East.

The council of the Doctors Syndicate issued a decision that no doctor should have a media appearance for three months, until this situation is settled.

The Syndicate called for prosecution for anyone who harm the reputation of a doctor.
