MP Kanaan: We need to restore confidence and take serious steps

Budget and Finance Parliamentary Committee head MP Ibrahim Kanaan said on Friday that the electicity’s deficit does not exceed 7200 billion LBP, adding howver that the budget deficit is reduced by 200 billion LBP.

Kanaan’s comments were made during a press conference whereby he noted that the Lebanese state's expenditures are 24 thousand billion LBP, while its revenues are 16 thousand billion LBP.

"We need to restore confidence and to take serious steps. We will make responsible stances for improvement, not demolition," Kanaan added.

"Prior to Paris 4 conference, Lebanon will suggest more than 200 projects worth USD 16 billion in vital and strategic sectors." He concluded by saying.
