Jumblatt: Assad wants to preserve regime at the expense of Syria’s stability
National Struggle Front leader MP Jumblatt said on Monday that “Syria is still in the morgue while the Syrian people remain hostage to the ruling clique that carries out, on a daily basis, a genocidal project against the resistant people”.

In his weekly statement to Al-Anbaa daily, Jumblatt pointed out that Homs is coming under military attacks in order to implement the plan of “demographic and sectarian partition which paves the way for the division of Syria”, adding that Syrian President Bashara Assad wants to preserve the regime even if it comes at the expense of Syria’ stability.

Jumblatt stressed that the inaction and procrastination shown by the international community and its failure to shoulder its humanitarian and ethical responsibility towards the Syrian people will aggravate the situation and lead to further violence.
