Before cutting the live coverage of the parliamentary session discussing the budget 2018, Prime Minister Saad Hariri had expressed surprise over the strike staged by the judges, saying that “it is not necessary to tackle the reason known by everyone that they are political.”
However, head of the Supreme Judicial Council Judge Jean Fahed described in a press conference the situation of the judiciary.
The judge called for passing laws that preserve the dignity and independence of the judicial system to be able to achieve justice, noting that any comparison between the judiciary and any other public sector job is irrelevant.
He added that the judicial supervision on the course of the parliamentary elections is inevitable.
