Raad: Bassil carries out his duties within his constitutional prerogatives

MP Mohammad Raad said on Wednesday that people’s protest over growing electricity blackouts is justified and logical, noting that blocking roads and burning tires will not be useful, it will only aggravate the situation and thwart the citizens’ activities.

Raad stressed that previous cabinets are responsible for the deterioration of the electricity sector and the negligence in reaching strategic solutions.

Raad declared that Energy Minister Gebran Bassil is carrying out his duties within his constitutional prerogatives, while the government should continue its support for the implementation of its decisions and necessary measures that contribute in alleviating the crisis as much as possible.
