Nasrallah: Results guarantee protection of Resistance

Hezbollah Secretary General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah said on Monday that the results of the parliamentary elections will form a guarantee to protect the Resistance and the army-Resistance-people equation.

Nasrallah’s comments were made during a televised speech, one day after the first general parliamentary elections in Lebanon since nine years.

“The elections gave a counter-message to those who were trying to say that the Resistance had declined in its environment," he added.

On another note, Nasrallah called on all political powers to spot the provocative rhetoric that dominated before the elections.

He also voiced hopes that the formation of the new government would not take long, adding that the situation of the country and the whole region does not stand such a thing.

Nasrallah concluded by asserting that the identity of Beirut will remain Arab and that the city will remain the “capital for resistance”
