Hariri from Baabda: Parties are responding positively with formation of new government

Prime Minister-designate Saad Hariri asserted on Monday that Lebanon stands in a critical economic situation, calling for the formation of a new government as soon as possible.

“Parties are responding positively in this regard,” he added.

Hariri’s comments were made after meeting with President Michel Aoun and speaker Nabih Berri in Baabda Presidential palace.

He noted that the meeting comes at the request of Aoun in order to unify positions over the demarcation of the borders with Israel.

As for the controversy surrounding the naturalization decree, Hariri called whoever has any objection in this regard to resort to the courts, adding that General Security head Major general Abbas Ibrahim will review the issue.
