The cabinet formation has been put on freeze, but before things escalated and the obstacles started to form, the government was on the verge of seeing the light.
The latest formula that was being circulated was a 30-minister government distributed as follows:
Finance Ministry for Amal Movement
Interior Ministry for the Future Movement
Defense and Foreign Affairs Ministries for the president and the Free Patriotic Movement, with negotiations on the possibility of conceding the Defense Ministry to the Lebanese Forces amid pre-conditions, but the option was not welcomed by Hezbollah
A debate erupted over the deputy PM post between the Lebanese Forces and the president, who says that traditionally, the post holder must be named by the president.
The Telecommunication Ministry would remain with Future Movement and the Energy Ministry with the FPM
Competition over the Public Works Ministry between the Progressive Socialist Party and the Marada Movement
Justice Ministry between the Lebanese Forces and PSP
Agriculture Ministry for Hezbollah
State Ministry for Planning for Hezbollah
State Ministry for Women's affairs for the Future Movement
State Ministry for anti-corruption affairs for the president
