Caretaker Minister of Interior and Municipalities, Nouhad al-Machnouk, met Tuesday with his Saudi counterpart, Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud Al Saud, at his summer palace in Jeddah.
After the meeting between Saudi and Lebanese delegations, a closed one-hour meeting was held between both ministers, during which they tackled the relationship between the two countries as well as the political development in Lebanon and the area.
The Saudi official stressed the kingdom’s keenness on Lebanon’s stability and preventing Iran from expanding its influence in the Arab and African worlds, adding that the Lebanese Saudi Business council is expected to convene as soon as the cabinet is formed.
Al-Machnouk is expected to return to Beirut later on Wednesday.
