Caretaker Minister of Industry Hussein Hajj Hassan told LBCI on Tuesday that he had informed the cabinet of his visit to Syria, noting that he has already been there officially 4 times.
Speaking to Nharkom Said talk show, he emphasized that Lebanon doesn’t benefit from cutting ties with Syria, “but on the contrary, many cases should be discussed between both countries immediately after the cabinet formation such as the Syrian refugees’ return, reconstruction of Syria as well as other matters,” he added.
Hajj Hassan called on all Lebanese to consider the relations with Syria without prejudice, “because it will boost Lebanon’s economy,” adding that the government had never discussed the refugees’ return in any session and Lebanon has no interest in distancing itself from this file.
“The Lebanese economic situation is very critical and needs radical solutions through reforms,” the minister concluded.
