Student killed in Shekka school bus accident

An unidentified truck driver collided with a school bus on Wednesday on the Tripoli-Beirut road, near Msaylha Fortress.

The accident resulted in the killing of 8-year-old Azam Owayda and the wounding of 13-year-old Mohammad Hajjaj and 7-year-old Bahaa Hajjaj.

Red Cross members transferred the victim’s body as well as the injured students to the Batroun Public Hospital.

The ISF rushed to the scene and launched an investigation into the accident.

It was earlier reported that several people were injured Wednesday in a car accident on the Kornet Chehwan road.

The injured people, identified as Mary Geagea, Tony Geagea, Yehya Alawy and a Bengali woman, were rushed to two different hospitals in Bhannes and Serhal.

The accident caused a serve traffic jam on the aforementioned road.
