Slain Sheikh's brother threatens the State

The al-Abde-Halba road was reopened on Friday, and the earth mounds were removed

The alAbde-alMiyeh road was earlier partially reopened after it was blocked early on Friday, while efforts are being deployed to reopen the Akkar road.

Chaos took over Akkar once again Friday, as citizens took to the streets and blocked them with sand, gravel and burning tires to protest the release of 11 LAF military personnel which took place on Thursday.

The 11 released include 3 officers (two captains and a lieutenant) who were on duty when Sheikh Abdul Wahed and his comrade were killed after failing to sop at an LAF checkpoint on the
20th of May.

In this light, the slain Sheikh's brother gave the government up till Monday to resolve the situation or otherwise deal with the grave consequences which will come to everyone's surprise. "The case should be deferred to the Council of Justice," he added.

Some men appeared to be armed with one citizen  calling on the LF's Chief Samir Geagea, Kataeb Party Leader Amin Gemmayel and Former PM Saad Hariri "to arm the people to balance Hezbollah's forces".

In turn MP khaled Daher said during a press conference that “w
e are demanding justice and transparency in a national cause that concerns the dignity of the country”.
