Public institutions to close on September 20 for Ashura
Caretaker Prime Minister Saad Hariri issued on Friday a memorandum in which he called public institutions and municipalities to close on Thursday September 20 to commemorate Ashura.

Ashura is a major religious commemoration of the martyrdom of Hussein, a grandson of the Prophet Mohammad.
 
Shiite Muslims around the world mark this holiday, or the tenth day of Muharram, the first month of the Islamic calendar.
