Relatives of abductees from Ain el-Tineh: Patience has limits

House Speaker Nabih Berri received a delegation of the family members of the 11 abductees in Syria on Monday at his residence in Ain el-Tineh. They discussed the different stages of this “national case that concerns all the Lebanese.”     

Berri reassured the families that he will keep following up on this issue until all abductees are released.      

Following the meeting, the family members announced that they are leaving room for more contacts and efforts, but “patience has limits”.

The families had held a sit-in on Monday morning outside the residence of House Speaker Nabih Berri in Ain el Tineh. Their protest was staged to demand the disclosure of the "fate of their sons."

The families told LBCI that they will escalate their movement if they see no progress in their case.     

One of them told LBCI: “50 days ago after we requested a meeting with Berri, he has finally granted us one today; we will stay outside his residence in Ain el Tineh until we meet him. We hold him fully responsible for any escalation.”     

The abductees’ families also managed to get an appointment with the Turkish ambassador in Lebanon on Wednesday.
