President Michel Aoun received Tuesday at Baabda presidential palace MP Jamil Sayyed, with whom he discussed the current situation on the local scene and the latest developments regarding the cabinet formation process.
Following the meeting, Sayyed indicated that wagering on regional developments to delay the government formation or to try to recalibrate the balance of forces yielded by the recent parliamentary elections was "absurd."
"Given the internal situation, especially the condition of economy and services, everybody must assume their responsibility to revive the state by speeding up the government formation, particularly after the recent position of Walid Jumblatt who called all sides to make concessions for the nation's best interest," he said.
Sayyed added that talks also touched on the dossier of candidates who passed the Civil Service Board's exams in various fields, and that the President had promised to settle on the issue in the nearest time possible.
