Bassil on October 13 commemoration: We are the reform that will beat all corruption

Free Patriotic Movement chief Gebran Bassil stressed that “their battle is not limited to General Michel Aoun reaching presidency, but they seek to build the republic through fairness and equal partnership among its components,” noting that this partnership has begun to be achieved in the presidency, in the government and the parliament, and must be completed in the state's administration.

On the relation between the FPM and the Lebanese Forces, Bassil stressed that they agreed with the LF on reconciliation that protects the society, “but it will not be enough if it weren’t promoted by fair partnership in power.”

“The FPM reached a settlement with the Future Movement but it is no longer enough if it does not turn into equality in power and fighting corruption,” he added.

In a speech marking October 13th commemoration, he stated that “some are trying to kill the era, which means to kill the country with a lie, but we will rescue it even if we’ll have to commit political suicide.”

“We came today to say that we are the steadfastness that is not eradicated by defeat. We are the Charter that will conquer all those who conspired against it, and we are the reform that will beat all corruption," Bassil pledged.
