Caretaker Information Minister Melhem Riachy stated Tuesday that the cabinet “does not depend on the Lebanese Forces.”
Speaking from Ain al-Tineh, Riachy noted that he briefed Speaker Nabih Berri on the outcome of the recent meeting with PM-designate Saad Hariri, stressing that the discussions are open and that the Lebanese Forces party is not demanded specific ministerial portfolios.
“We ask not to undermine the Lebanese Forces, whether in its parliamentary, political or popular representation, we will continue our work as needed and the cabinet does not depend on the LF and the party cannot facilitate more that is already has,” he said.
On another note, the minister revealed that he presented a draft law on private media, adding that a meeting will be held with MP George Adwan in this regard, to submit law as an urgent matter to the cabinet in a bid to protect print media.
